The ISPOR-UW student chapter was honored to have CHOICE alumnus Dr. Mark Bounthavong share his experience and insights with us on how to publish papers in scientific journals on January 14, 2022. In this seminar, Dr. Bounthavong discussed how papers are triaged and assigned to editors, reviewed, and published, and shared practical tips on how to choose and respond to peer reviewers.
Mark is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and the National Clinical Program Manager at VA Pharmacy Benefits Management Academic Detailing Services. He also is an Associate Editor for Substance Abuse and an editorial board member for the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association. Mark received his PharmD from Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy, MPH from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and PhD from the CHOICE Institute at UW.
